SUMMARY:

This is my one of the most favorite  fish fry and I'm sure that you also may like it. Seer fish fry made with a Kerala flavor  taste great. I love this Seer fish fry, which we prepare at my wife's house. This has an amazing taste. Fish is indispensable  throughout in Kerala. The way it is made varies from Malabar area to South Kerala. But people make it to the table for at least one time meal every day. This crispy Seer fish fry is  simple to cook and tasty, so please try it. With regards..........

INGREDIENTS:

* Neyimeen / Seer fish.......................................................500 gm
* Ginger and Garlic paste................................................1 tsp each
* Red Chilly powder.........................................................2 tbsp
* Pepper powder..............................................................1 tsp
* Turmeric powder.........................................................1/4 tsp
* Curry leaves................................................................2 sprigs
* Coconut oil..................................................................for fry
* Salt to taste.

DIRECTIONS:

1. Clean, wash well  the fish and cut into small pieces.

2. Make a thick paste of red chilly powder, ginger garlic, pepper powder, turmeric powder and salt with one or two tbsp of water.

3. Apply the paste on the fish pieces.

4. Marinate it for 15 to 30 min in a refrigerator.

5. Heat a pan with sufficient coconut oil. When the oil get heated spread curry leaves and shallow/deep fry the Seer fish pieces on medium flame to 10 to 15 mins both sides.

6. Ones the fish become crispy close the flame and take it in to a plate, serve hot along with rice.

TIPS:

* If  you like, you can add 3/4 shallots paste  for taste.

* You can sprinkle the lemon juice and garnish with curry leaves and sliced onions.

* You can add Kashmiri chilli instead of Chilli powder for more color.
